Storm bring water damage in Ferndale, WA.

The Staircase is Hit Hard by Water Intrusion from a Storm

The winter rain storm brought seasonal highs in rainfall and an extremely high water table. Our office fields many calls during these times and the issue is often times water intrusion in the basement caused by Hydrostatic pressure.

Hydrostatic pressure can easily drive groundwater into the basement through gaps and cracks in the masonry. High water pressure can also cause seepage through solid concrete. Hydrostatic Pressure refers to a water pressure and is a major cause of basement water problems.

One such issue occurred in the staircase leading to the basement of a home in Ferndale, WA. Our guys were able to help pinpoint the problem and assist in the remedy by using FLIR technology and many years of experience in this area. The first clue was the sloughing paint along the trim line of the stairs. This insight helped our client quickly address the issue and our crew got right to work.
